Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind Praise

In a world that has a lot of movies that I don't like, there are a good section of movies I do like. But no film is perfect like no person is. But to me, "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" is. Maybe it's just the words of a gushing fan who has fallen head first into an obsession. The symptoms? Oh, the usual, quoting the film, convincing my friends to watch it.

I can see flaws in film even if I love a movie. But to me, this film packs a lot without forcing its way into your heart. The humor is something you haven't seen before. Now that I look there are many stories with quirky female leads but this one reigns queen.

Kate Winslet catches us off guard playing an impulsive woman who changes her hair many times in the span of the movie. If that wasn't enough, Jim Carrey plays a character, very easy to relate too, who doesn't have much to say. He is repressed but Clementine(Kate Winslet) seems to express a part of him he wants to participate in(only then will you see the Jim Carrey we know creep out).

Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, and Kirsten Dunst are side characters that have a story of their own that fits well into the story without distracting themselves from the main romance with Joel(Jim Carrey) and Clementine.

The film works backwards from to the point where they can't stand each other which I know can make most people start to develop some loathing toward the film but I say, sit tight, it gets much better. Once you get inside Joel's mind, you are on a ride that you probably haven't seen before until nothing can tear you away from rooting for these two. Rooting for love itself. If not love, the memory of love.

In my opinon, the film has the best ending of a film I have ever seen. I won't spoil it. I suggest if you haven't seen this film, you should give it a try, hopefully you can get over the bright color hair and running through Joel's mind.

Rating System: ***** (five out of five kisses)
Where To Get It: Netflix (On Instant Que and To Rent) as well as Amazon, FYE, Blockbusters, this film is not hard to find but to some, unknown.

Film Lovers Aren't Aliens

I was sitting in a group of people, one of those, "get to know you" freshman circles and we were asked our favorite movie. The films seemed to revolve around "Avatar" or something I had heard of and just didn't care to see. One girl brought up an independent film, shyly commenting that no one probably heard of it. I wondered why it was such a shame in the teenage world, not like a movie that others can't nod their heads in approval. When the words came from my mouth that my favorite was "Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind", I guess I was unaware I turned into an alien. Well I can't expect all teenagers to run out and rent the movie, just because I insist, Jim Carrey was in it. But I wished teenagers, at least, heard of some of these great films. But, thanks to the Internet, I know I am in no way alone. There are many people who watch my films but there are still the ones who complain on Netflix that such films are a waste of time. I only wonder what is a good use of time.

To me, I watch films to feel something while I'm going on the ride. I want to remember the film later. I know if a film is really good if I remember it later, whether it be years or months. If quotes stick with me and help me through life, I know the film has made an impact. So sometimes I don't know even after the credits roll. Those are the films I'll talk about. I'll review the latest, being honest. But, reminding you, a film is per person. Critics won't always be right. Because a film will mean different things to different people because we have all been through different situations.
